Empire Tree Care removes single limbs from trees that stay standing, in Arcadia and across the San Gabriel Valley. The job is taking one limb, or a few, off a tree that is otherwise fine. Call or text (626) 493-7629 to get on the schedule. A limb that cracked or a branch that died while the rest of the tree leafed out is a limb job. If the whole tree has to go, that is tree removal, and it has a page of its own.

The first step is a call or text. The estimate gets a date and time. They come out for it, and the number you hear holds once the work starts. For shaping work across the whole tree, tree trimming & pruning is the better fit. For a canopy that has grown too dense, crown thinning is a separate job with its own page.

A limb that has already come down and is lying in your yard is closer to fallen tree removal. A limb that is still on the tree is the case on this page. Tell them which limb you mean and where it sits. A limb job is about taking off the part that is the trouble. Everything else on the tree stays as it is, and the tree keeps standing.

What every job includes

  • Free estimate at your property
  • A text when they are on the way
  • The price quoted is the price you pay
  • Debris hauled away
  • Chips left as mulch if you want them
  • A walk-through with you at the end
  • Clean, safe work, guaranteed

What counts as tree limb removal, and when is it the right job?

It is the right job when one limb is the problem and the rest of the tree is fine. That separates it from tree removal, where the whole tree comes down, and from broader shaping work over the canopy.

Things worth naming on the call are a limb that split in the wind or a branch that died and turned gray among green ones. A limb that hangs over your roof or fence is worth naming too. In each case one part of the tree is the issue, and the job is that part. The tree stays, and so does everything else on it. If the tree itself is dying and a limb is only the first sign of it, dead tree removal is the page to read.

How is limb removal different from trimming and pruning?

Tree limb removal is aimed at one particular limb. Tree trimming & pruning works over the tree more broadly. Crown thinning takes selected branches from all through the canopy so it is less dense, and crown reduction makes the whole canopy smaller.

If a single limb is what bothers you, start with this page. If you find you are describing the whole tree, one of the others may fit better. Say which you have when you call, and the conversation goes from there. The words matter less than the description of what the tree looks like.

What should you tell them about the limb?

Say where the limb sits on the tree, and whether it comes off the main trunk or a side branch. Say what is under it, such as a roof or a parked car. Say whether it is still attached or hanging by a strip of bark, and whether it leans toward the house or toward the street. Say whether it still has leaves on it.

Mention any other limb that looks weak. You are the one standing under it, and your description is a good place to start. A rough guess at the limb's length is plenty.

How much does tree limb removal cost in Arcadia?

A limb job has a $500 minimum. Call or text (626) 493-7629 and describe the limb, and the number for your job comes from the estimate. Once you have it, it stays fixed through the work.

A photo does not set the number. On price, the figure you were quoted is the figure on the invoice. If you are weighing one limb against taking more off the tree, ask about both and compare the numbers. Payment can go by Zelle, by check, in cash, or on a credit or debit card. The Arcadia price guide for tree jobs shows how quotes work across the other services.

How does a limb removal job go from the first call?

A limb job starts with a phone call. You and they pick a day and a time for the estimate, and they come out for it. Nothing gets booked for a Sunday, since they work Monday to Saturday from 6 AM to 9 PM. Same day happens sometimes, but it's never a promise, so ask when you call.

On the day, a text tells you they are headed your way. Then the work gets done, followed by a walk around the property with them. The invoice comes after the walk-through, and that's the end of it. They promise clean, safe work and promise to repair any damage to your property as soon as possible.

Can a limb come off in the rain?

No. Empire Tree Care doesn't do limb jobs in the rain. The rule bends only for an emergency call about branches that fell on a house or on a car.

A limb still up in the tree is not that call, however bad it looks. A limb that has landed on your roof or on a car is that call, and you should say so as soon as you phone. For a tree that is already on the ground, the fallen tree removal page covers that job, and the emergency tree service page covers emergency calls.

Does the San Gabriel Valley change how a limb job goes?

The job is the same across the valley. They are based in Arcadia and travel up to 45 miles for work. The owner names Pasadena and La Cañada among the places the work happens around, and BMO Stadium and Pasadena City College among the spots.

If you are wondering whether your street is covered, check the full list of towns with their own page. A town that is not on it may still be inside the 45 miles, so give your street and town when you call. Say which limb you mean, and whether other trees stand close to it. Mention if the limb hangs over a neighbor's side, since that is part of describing where it is.
