Empire Tree Care takes down large trees in Arcadia and across the San Gabriel Valley. The job is removing a tall, heavy tree, the kind that is more than one person can handle alone, and the whole tree comes down. A tree whose top stands well above your roof is the kind this job is for. Call or text (626) 493-7629 to set it up. Compared with plain tree removal, the difference is the size of the tree you are looking up at. The price comes from the estimate visit, and the number you are given stays the same once the work starts.

A tree can outgrow its spot over the years, with branches over a roof and roots under a path. If the size is the problem and you would rather keep the tree, crown reduction makes the canopy smaller and leaves the tree standing. Tree trimming & pruning also leaves a tree standing. Large tree removal does not. The whole tree comes down, which is a much bigger undertaking than taking off a branch or two.

If you are not sure your tree counts as large, say what you see when you call. The height compared with your house and what stands close by are worth naming, and so is the width of the trunk if you can judge it. Mention a neighbor's fence or roof if the tree reaches it, and say if there are several trunks. You do not need a measurement. A rough description in your own words is enough to begin, and the estimate visit is booked from there.

What makes large tree removal different from a regular removal?

The size of the tree is the difference. Tree trimming & pruning takes off part of a tree, and large tree removal takes all of it. A big tree can shade a roof or reach over a fence line. Branches can lean toward a house while the trunk stands well back from it.

The word large is yours to judge. There is no set height on this page and no trunk width that qualifies. If you are looking up at the tree and thinking it is too much to deal with yourself, the job belongs here.

A big tree can also be a worrying one. Dangerous tree removal is the page for a standing tree you consider a threat, whatever its size, and dead tree removal is for one that has died. This page is for the tree where the size itself is the issue.

How does a large tree removal job go from the first call?

It starts with your call or text, and the estimate is put on the calendar. After that they show up and get the job done. The walk-through follows, then the invoice. That is the whole line, and the estimate is where your number is set.

The day runs 6 AM to 9 PM, Monday to Saturday, with Sunday closed and no work promised on it. A text tells you when they are heading to your place. Same day is sometimes possible and never promised. Clean, safe work is guaranteed, and any damage to your property is repaired as soon as possible.

How much does large tree removal cost in Arcadia?

The minimum is $500. The number for your tree comes from the estimate, and it is given before anyone starts. Once Empire Tree Care gives you a number, it stays the same when the work starts.

You can pay in cash, by card, by Zelle or by check. The quote itself is free, and past the minimum your number is set for your tree alone. Another tree's price does not carry over to yours, so ask about your own. Ask for the quote in full before you agree to anything. For the general picture, there is an Arcadia page on how tree quotes work that covers the other jobs too.

Can a big tree come down in the rain?

No. A rainy day is not a working day for a big tree either. The rule bends only for an emergency call about branches that dropped onto a house or on a car. For that, they will come out and remove them.

The exception covers fallen branches only, and it ends there. A big tree that is still standing is outside it, and so are limbs still hanging in the crown. If you are unsure which side of the line yours falls on, say what you see when you reach them.

What about the stump after a big tree comes down?

A large tree leaves a large stump behind, and a large root mass under it. The stump is its own job. Tree stump removal takes it out of the ground, and tree stump grinding wears it down. Roots that spread under the lawn or a path are covered on the tree root removal page.

If the stump matters to you, bring it up on the first call. A wide stump is worth describing by its width in your own words. The tree comes down first, and what is left in the ground can be talked through at the same time. Removal and grinding leave different things behind, so read both pages before you decide which one to ask about.

How far will they go for a big tree removal?

Up to 45 miles from Arcadia. Pasadena, Monrovia and the other towns with their own page are all inside that, and the full list of towns they serve shows the rest. A town that is not listed may still be in range, and the call settles it.

The owner has worked around La Crescenta and La Cañada, and near the San Gabriel Mission. Because the reach is wide, a call is the way to find out whether your address is covered. Give the street and the town, and say how tall the tree looks from the ground. Say which side of the house it stands on.
