Empire Tree Care handles tree removal in Arcadia and across the San Gabriel Valley, taking a whole tree down when it shouldn't stay. Nothing gets shaped or saved on this job. That is the line between it and tree trimming & pruning, where the tree stays and gets cared for. The first step is a phone call, followed by an estimate. Call or text (626) 493-7629 to get started.

Trees come out for different reasons. A tree may have died, split in a storm, leaned toward the house or outgrown the yard. A tree that is already dead has its own page, called dead tree removal. If you aren't sure a tree has to come out at all, say so on the call and describe what you see. The price is never worked out from a picture, so expect a conversation first.

It is a father and son business, in business since 2026, and the owner's father has worked in the gardening and tree industry for 20+ years. They speak Spanish, so the call can happen in English or in Spanish. Same day happens sometimes and is never promised. The business is based in Arcadia, and Sunday is closed, so no removal is booked for that day.

The full list of what each job includes.

What does tree removal cover, and who calls for it?

Tree removal means the whole tree comes down. It is a different call than a trim. With a trim, the tree stays and gets cared for. With removal, the decision has been made that the tree has to go, and the job is the tree coming down.

Homes and businesses both fit, since residential and commercial tree service are both on the business's list. What decides the job is the tree in front of you, so tell them which one it is and where it stands. Several kinds of removal have a page of their own: dead tree removal, fallen tree removal, dangerous tree removal, large tree removal, storm damage tree removal and tree limb removal. Removal is final, so it is worth being sure the tree is the one you mean.

Stump work is a separate service; see tree stump removal.

How much does tree removal cost?

The minimum for tree removal is $500. That is the floor, and above it the number comes from a call or text to (626) 493-7629 and the estimate. You are told the figure before anyone starts.

Once the work begins, the number does not move. Their promise is that the price quoted is the price you pay, and that is how the job is run. Payment is cash, a check, a card or Zelle, and the invoice comes after you have walked the finished job.

Payment can bend when it has to. One client could only pay half on the day the job finished, so they made another contract and let the client pay the rest when able. If you want to read before you call, see what a removal costs around Arcadia.

How does a tree removal job go from the first call?

You call or text, a date and time get set for the estimate, and Empire Tree Care comes out to see the tree. On work day, a text tells you when they are headed your way. The tree comes down, then you walk the property with them and look at what was done.

After that, an invoice is handed over and the job is finished. There are no extra stages in between, and that short list is how the owner describes every job.

Clean, safe work is what they guarantee on each job, and damage to your property gets repaired as soon as possible.

Does tree removal happen in the rain?

No. Tree removal is not done in the rain, and that covers a standing tree you want taken down.

The only rain-day call is an emergency, and it is about branches. When branches have fallen on a house or a car, they will come out and remove those branches even in the rain. A whole tree you want gone is outside that exception, and so is every other job on this site that is not a branch emergency.

Outside the rain rule, hours are Monday through Saturday, from 6 AM to 9 PM. If you can't tell which situation yours is, call and describe what you see.

Does the tree have to come out, or would a trim do?

Some trees come out and some can stay. If the tree is alive and you want to keep it, a trim may be the job, and trimming leaves the tree standing. If it has died, split or come down already, removal is the call.

Plenty of trees sit between those two. One may be too big for its spot, lean a little or drop limbs. When you aren't sure, describe what you see on the call and ask questions before you agree to anything. A sound, living tree points toward a trim. A dead or storm-broken one points toward removal.

Does the tree have to be in Arcadia?

No. A tree 45 miles out is still a job they'll take, and Arcadia is where the drive starts, so most of the San Gabriel Valley is within reach. The towns they work in are listed on one page if you want to check yours. They work around Pasadena, La Cañada, La Crescenta, BMO Stadium, Pasadena City College and the San Gabriel Mission, so those parts of the valley are familiar ground.

The strangest job the owner can name was in La Crescenta, where they saved a family of parrots from an ash tree that was dying. The baby birds came out safely, and the owners were left to contact animal rescue.

How the price works

Call or text (626) 493-7629. Empire Tree Care gets back to you about the work. The number doesn't change once the work starts. Jobs start at $500. More on how pricing works.

Where Empire Tree Care does this

All of the San Gabriel Valley. A protected tree in Covina comes down only after a permit is obtained, with the application going to the Chief Planning Official. El Monte has a Tree Protection and Preservation Ordinance, and removing a protected tree needs city review and approval before any removal starts.
