Empire Tree Care does tree maintenance in Arcadia and across the San Gabriel Valley. The job is care for trees you plan to keep. Maintenance starts with a tree that is still standing, so you call for it while the tree is in good shape instead of waiting for a problem. The owner puts the goal plainly: proper care and overall tree health, and no butchering of trees. Call or text (626) 493-7629 to book a time for an estimate.

The job is for people who want to keep their trees. You deal with a father and son business that speaks Spanish, so you can talk the job through in English or in Spanish. If you aren't sure what your trees need, describe them over the phone and a time gets set for someone to come and look. A plain description is enough to start.

If you already know you want a cut-back, the tree trimming & pruning page covers that service on its own. A limb that has come down onto a house or car is an emergency call, and emergency tree service is the page for that. Maintenance sits between the two: trees that are standing and staying, looked after with proper care.

The full list of what each job includes.

What is tree maintenance, and how is it different from other tree work?

Tree maintenance is care for a tree that is staying. It differs from tree removal, where the tree is leaving, and from emergency tree service, where something has already failed. It also differs from trimming and pruning, which is the cut-back job and has its own page.

In the owner's words, they love making sure trees get the proper care, and they take pride in clients who are happy and in the overall health of the tree. They also love to see beautiful green trees around the cities. The owner has seen their father work in gardening and trees for more than 20 years, and joined that work about 7 years ago.

How does a tree maintenance visit work from the first call?

A phone call or a text starts it. You and Empire Tree Care settle on a date and time, and they come out to look at the trees. When the work is finished, you walk the property with them and see it for yourself. The invoice follows the walk.

The business is open from 6 AM to 9 PM, Monday through Saturday. Once the day arrives, a text lets you know they are heading over. Same day is sometimes possible, but it's never a promise, so ask when you call.

Clean, safe work is guaranteed on every job, and any damage to your property gets repaired as soon as possible. Those promises hold for a small maintenance visit the same as for a big removal.

How much does tree maintenance cost?

The minimum is $500. Call or text (626) 493-7629, because quotes come from talking the job through and not from a picture. The owner's promise is that the number given before the work starts is the number on the invoice. The $500 minimum is the least a job costs, and anything above it comes from the call and the estimate you are given.

You can settle up with cash, a check, Zelle or a card. For more on how pricing works around Arcadia, see the price guide for tree care in Arcadia.

Will they work on my trees in the rain?

No. Maintenance is not done in the rain.

The one exception is an emergency call to remove branches that have fallen on a house or a car, and that is a different job from maintenance. Maintenance is care for trees that are standing and staying, so the exception does not apply to it.

If branches are down on your house or car right now, the emergency tree service page is the one to read, and the call can happen even in the rain. A call about the trees themselves, before anything falls, is the maintenance call.

What kinds of trees does maintenance cover?

Any tree you plan to keep is a candidate. Shade trees, fruit trees, oaks and palms all fall under that, though oak tree trimming, palm tree trimming and fruit tree pruning each have a page of their own for work specific to those trees.

Maintenance is the general page. If your trees are mixed, or you have not decided what each one needs, describe them as a group when you call and ask about the options. A hedge or a row of shrubs has its own pages too, hedge trimming and shrub trimming.

What should you tell them about your trees when you call?

Say how many trees you have in mind and where they stand. Name the kinds if you know them, and if you don't, describe them: tall and narrow, wide and low, one trunk or several. Say what you want from each tree, whether that is shade, privacy, fruit or just a healthy tree that stays where it is.

A few plain sentences give the estimate something to start from. You do not have to know the trade words, because describing what you see is enough. Ask your questions about the number before you agree to it.

Do they cover my part of the San Gabriel Valley?

Most likely, yes. The business is based in Arcadia and serves Arcadia and the whole San Gabriel Valley, and they drive as far as 45 miles when a job calls for it. The page listing every town they cover includes Pasadena, Monrovia, Glendale and Covina.

The owner was born and raised in Pasadena, so that city is home turf. Other spots they work around include La Cañada, La Crescenta, BMO Stadium, Pasadena City College and the San Gabriel Mission. If you can't tell whether your street is in range, call or text (626) 493-7629 and ask.

How the price works

Call or text (626) 493-7629. Empire Tree Care gets back to you about the work. The number doesn't change once the work starts. Jobs start at $500. More on how pricing works.

Where Empire Tree Care does this

All of the San Gabriel Valley. The city of Sierra Madre says to prune oaks only between July and September to prevent fungal infections, which sets the timing for caring for an oak. For oaks you plan to keep in Pasadena, the city says pruning should be limited to removing dead wood and correcting hazardous conditions. See every town Empire Tree Care covers for tree maintenance.
