Empire Tree Care trims palms in Arcadia and the valley towns around it, and palm tree trimming is the job for a palm that stays. Most palms have no branches and one growing point at the top of the trunk, so trimming means working with the fronds around that crown. A palm that has to come down is a different job, handled as palm tree removal. Call or text (626) 493-7629.

The price for a palm job comes from the estimate, and no quote comes from a photo. Once you have a number, it holds when the work begins. In the owner's promise, what you are quoted is what you pay. Same day is a sometimes, never a promise. Tell them which palms you mean and which days suit you for the estimate. The owner loves proper care for trees and takes pride in overall tree health, and that includes palms.

Palms are named in the license itself. The business holds the C-49 classification, Tree and Palm, through the Contractors State License Board. The contractor bond sits on file there too, issued through a surety company. Of the services on this site, palm work is what that license names outright. It is a family trade: the owner's father has spent 20+ years in gardening and tree work, and the owner joined him about 7 years ago.

What is palm tree trimming, and how is a palm different from other trees?

Palm tree trimming is care for a palm you plan to keep. A palm grows from a single point at the top of its trunk, with the fronds spreading from that crown, so there are no limbs to thin and no side branches to cut back to. Dead and drooping fronds hang below the green ones, and the trimming deals with that growth instead of the shape of a canopy. The owner's view on proper care applies to a palm the same as to any other tree, so describe what you see on the phone: dead fronds, drooping fronds, fronds over a path. Oaks, fruit trees and hedges each have their own service, and tree trimming & pruning is the wider page for trees that are not palms.

What do they need to hear about your palm before the estimate?

Look up before you call. Note whether the fronds are green, brown or a mix, and whether any hang over a roof edge or a walkway. Then say where the palm stands and how many palms you mean. One in the front yard, one beside the driveway and a row along a fence are different jobs, and the call is where they get sorted out. Mention anything under or near the palm, such as a roof or a fence line. If fronds already hang over a neighbor's yard, say that too. All of this just means the estimate is about the right palms. If you are unsure whether a palm should stay at all, say so, because trimming and removal are different jobs and the call is where you choose between them.

What happens on a palm trimming job, from call to invoice?

Every palm job begins with a phone call, and the call ends with the estimate day picked. The job comes after the estimate. Once the trimming is finished, you do a walk-through with the business, and only then is the invoice handed to you. You get a text once they are on the way. Sunday is closed, so nothing is booked for it, and the rest of the week runs 6 AM to 9 PM. Clean, safe work is guaranteed on a palm job as on any other, and damage to your property is repaired as soon as possible. The walk-through is the time to look at the palm and the ground around it, before anything is invoiced.

How much does palm tree trimming cost in Arcadia?

Palm trimming jobs have a $500 minimum. Your palms get their own number at the estimate, with the $500 as the floor, and a photo cannot set it. To get the estimate booked, call or text (626) 493-7629. Customers ask two things most: can you do it today, and can you do it cheaper. Today is a sometimes. Cheaper is not on offer, because the quoted number is the price and there are no discounts. Payment can be Zelle, a check, cash or a card, credit or debit. If you have several palms, list every one you want looked at before the estimate day is picked.

Can a palm be trimmed in the rain?

No. A palm trim does not happen on a wet day, because jobs in the rain are not taken. There is one exception, and it is narrow: an emergency where branches have dropped on top of a house or a car. If a branch from a nearby tree is on your roof, say so at the start of the call. That is the kind of call emergency tree service covers. A palm that is merely overgrown is not an emergency. A frond hanging low over the driveway is a trimming question, and a branch through a windshield is the emergency, so say which one you have. Bring up the weather when you pick a day.

Can a palm farther out in the valley be trimmed too?

Yes. Arcadia is home base, and a palm up to 45 miles out is within the owner's range, so palms in Pasadena, Monrovia or Glendora are all inside it. Twenty of the towns have their own page, and the valley towns where palms get trimmed are listed together. If your town is not on the list, call and ask. Say which town the palms are in when you book the estimate. A palm on the far edge of the range gets the same first step as one down the street, which is a call or a text. If you are not sure your palm is in range, the phone call settles it.
